Celebrating Earth Day with Kids

Celebrating Earth Day with Kids

Posted by WinterKids on Tuesday, April 22, 2014

We need to make this generation the green generation. Whether your child is in preschool or a pre-teen, this is a great time to speak about how we can save our planet. There are many great ideas, from planting trees to recycling, but the main source is to get your kids outside and to discover the natural beauty all around us.

Kids are meant to be dirty, and not meant to be inside playing video games or on a smart phone 24/7. Let your kids experience the rush of exploring. If kids get the pleasure of playing with dirt, rocks, steams, and trees, they’ll have a personal stake in conservation. It is our duty as parents to teach our kids the importance of trees, plants, water, sun, and the role they have in keeping our planet and us alive.

Today, use Earth Day as a learning opportunity for your kids and to celebrate the beauty of our planet.
