“When the kids are cold, the day is done.”

Skiing/Snowboarding trips can be extremely expensive.  It’s important for families to get the experience and memories wanted out of the whole trip.  However, as we always say at WinterKids, “when the kids are cold, the day is done.”  In addition, there are other factors that can affect the attitude of your child which make them want to go inside.  WinterKids wants to make sure your trip is a success, so prepare for your day on the slopes with these tips!

Warm and Dry as well as Fashionable:

Our motto! It is important for children to stay comfortable while on the slopes.  Once they feel uncomfortable, they begin to complain and ruin everyone’s chances of a great day!  To keep your children warm, you need top of the line equipment and appropriate layering.  If the clothing doesn’t fit correctly, chances are it won’t keep your child warm and dry. When a child feels confident in what they are wearing, it brings that confidence to their activity. If a child is wearing an outfit they picked out, they become more excited to wear it and show it off!

Bathroom Breaks:

We all have experienced the hassle of taking off our gear to go to the bathroom.  Make sure you take a bathroom break before hitting the slopes and during your lunch break.  Hopefully, this will eliminate your child needing to go while on the slopes when everyone is focusing on having fun!

Quench the Hunger:

We all get moody when we are hungry.  So, it is important for us to be prepared.  Have a big breakfast before you decide to go out.  In addition, bring snacks and small water bottles to consume before and after your lunch break.  This will keep the energy and attitude levels up for everyone.
